The Best Natural Cleaning Products ( Pet and Baby Safe!)
Here are the best natural cleaning products you need in your home that are pet and baby safe!
Did you know today’s conventional cleaners are the most toxic thing in your home right now? They are full of carcinogenic toxins that are depleting your health.
Why Switch to Non-toxic Cleaning products?
Switching to natural cleaning products is essential because the current mainstream cleaning products you find in every store are full of harmful organic compounds that affect your health over time. Now imagine a baby or your pet; they are definitely more sensitive than you are!
Many cleaning products contain chemicals that can be harmful to human health and the environment. Prolonged or excessive exposure can lead to respiratory issues, skin irritations, and eye damage. Some ingredients can act as endocrine disruptors, interfering with the body’s hormone system, potentially leading to reproductive issues, developmental problems, and increased cancer risk (crazy, I know!)
Furthermore, when these chemicals are washed down the drain, they can contaminate water sources, posing risks to aquatic life. There really is an importance to handle cleaning products with fewer harmful ingredients.
What to Do About it
With how often we clean, it’s time we switch to something that’s safe for even our most sensitive family members, like our pets and babies! I can’t imagine spraying all these harmful chemicals around my loved ones.
I have tried many different cleaners that claim to be nontoxic yet still made my skin itchy and give me a headache, so I have compiled all the ones that have worked for my sensitive self and my pets!
When searching for good quality non-toxic cleaning product, make sure it’s from a trusted brand that isn’t green washed and actually stays away from harmful ingredients.
Best Natural Dish Soap: Attitude Dish Detergent
The first on our list is the Attitude Dish Detergent which I LOVE. This plant-based cleaner is super gentle and smells great! I have sensitive skin so its important for dish soap to be gentle on me, especially when I’m doing the dishes for prolonged period of time.
It leaves my dishes clean and shiny. It works good on getting grease and oil as well which is great because we cook A LOT. I have the bulk size and it lasts us a long time. Definitely worth it for my household.
I will say that this product doesn’t sud up much, so we do add a drop of Sals Suds in our soap dispenser for that extra cleaning power.
They have an unscented one for baby milk bottles too, if you’re interested!

Best Natural Cleaner for Floors and Tough Stains: Dr. Bronner’s Sal Suds
This super popular sudsing solution is worth the hype with its effective degreasing abilities, laundry powder, and stain removal.
This cleaner is known to get rid of laundry stains, hard water marks on your pots and pans, great bathroom cleaner, mopping floors, and all the heavier stains.
The Sal suds is a fan favorite and it definitely is worth all the hype it gets. Best part is it smells like Pine! I love the smell of pine but could never use pine sol.
I wouldn’t recommend using this as face wash or body wash as it is pretty strong, but I do have something similar I could recommend down the list.

For Everyday Cleaning: Dr. Bronner’s Unscented Castille Soap
I’m sure you’ve heard or tried doctor Bronner’s before. If you have not tried it yet, definitely give it try! This All-Purpose cleaner is all natural, 100% effective, and safe for pets and animals! You can use Dr Bronner’s castille Soap for for hand washing, vegetable washing, dishwashing, laundry, dog shampoo, makeup remover, body wash, shaving gel, and much more!
Personally, I have sensitive skin so I get to non-scented baby formula one. For cleaning, I love using their peppermint one.
One precautionary tip is you must dilute this shop with water! Do not use it straight form the bottle, it is way too strong and drying if you do.
The Dr Bronner’s castle soap unscented is a staple in my household. I personally use it to remove my makeup, a body wash, and to bathe my dogs.

Best Dishwasher Tabs: Blueland Dishwasher Tablet
Most dishwasher soaps on today’s market often contain chemicals that can be harmful to human health (and environment!) They contain synthetic fragrances and dyes, which can cause reactions to a multitude of people. Additionally, residue from these soaps can linger on dishes, leading to potential ingestion. It’s advisable to choose eco-friendly or natural alternatives.
I absolutely adore these and feel much better about what’s going on the plates my friends and family eat off of.
The Blueland dishwasher tablets have great ingredients and get the job done.

If you like using bleach powder or barkeeper’s friend for your tough sink and toilet bowl stains, consider switching to Bon Ami. If you haven’t heard of it, Bon Ami is essentially a strong natural cleaner made of Limestone, Feldspar Powder, Soda Ash, and Baking Soda.
This has been a staple in my household, and works really well for cleaning my toilet bowls without having all that “extra” stuff. Plus, the ingredients are natural so you don’t have to feel bad about this one going down the drain.

Ditch Laundry Sheets for: Dryer Balls
If you haven’t ditched the dryer sheets yet, well go to amazon right now and grab these dryer balls!
Dryer sheets often contain various chemicals, including volatile organic compounds, ethyl acetate, and fragrances that irritate the skin, eyes, and respiratory system. They also contain phthalates which are endocrine disruptors that interfere with the body’s hormonal system, potentially leading to reproductive and developmental issues.
Instead of using dryer sheets, use wool dryer balls! They are reusable and free of toxins. You can pretty much spray whatever scent you want on them.
They collect debris, lint, hairs, pet fur, and other stuff that may be clinging to your clothes. Now go throw your dryer sheets where they belong; the trash!
Instead of Bleach Use: Molly’s Suds Oxidizing Powder
80% of my closet are white clothes. It’s hard to maintain that kind of closet but I found this holy grail powder to brighten my clothes effectively.
Opt for the Molly’s Suds Oxidizing whitener instead of other whitening products. I find the oxidizing powder removed stains and brightened my clothes.
Branch Basics has a neat article on oxygen brightening powders that use sodium percarbonate and how it’s effective, like the Molly Suds one!
Honorable Cleaning Must Haves:
These are some staples I also use in my house that you probably already have laying around.
- Baking Soda: Baking soda is a great scrubber and deodorizer. I like to sprinkle this on areas where there’s gunk in the sink, washing machine, or bathroom. I also add it in my laundry for a whitening effect!
- Distilled White Vinegar: I pretty much use white vinegar to clean everything. I spray in the sink, bathroom, and use it in my all purpose cleaner.
- Isopropyl alcohol: Rubbing alcohol is great if you want to make your own all purpose cleaner. It’s a great easy disinfectant!
Conclusion
There you have it, these were my best natural cleaning products that I would recommend! These are what I use to keep my home clean effectively and in the least toxic way possible.
No Febreeze, Dawn Dish soap, or Tide for me please!
